Introduction:
On November 27-28, 2018, among all 36 projects that were re-evaluated for the roadshow, 15 innovative additive manufacturing projects with broad development prospects were highly appreciated by the review experts and won the tickets for the final evaluation after the fierce 2018 Additive Manufacturing Global Innovation Competition.
The roadshow re-evaluation of“2018 Global Additive Manufacture Innovation Competition”was held in Beijing on November 27-28th, 2018, which was organized by the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and the Beijing Fengtai Government, and jointly coordinated by the Beijing Fengtai Science & Technology Commission, the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park, the Beijing Fengtai Technology Park Construction Development Co.,Ltd. and the Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park 3D Printing Digital Innovation Center.
This re-evaluation has not only provided opportunities for the demonstrations of 3D printing projects, but also built bridges among the innovative 3D printing technology and the application-side, investment and financing cooperation, as well as the connection of upstream and downstream industrial chains, etc. The competition has not only received continuous attention and strong support from leaders of the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and the Beijing Fengtai Government, the Beijing Fengtai Science & Technology Commission, the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park, and the Beijing Fengtai Technology Park Construction Development Co.,Ltd., but also received continuous concern from authoritative experts, various application fields, investors, and medias, etc.
Competition Review and the Future Prospect of 3D Printing
Since its opening ceremony on August 8, 2018, the organizers have devoted a lot of effort to the competition. Ms. Jing Yao, the operation officer of Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park 3D Printing Digital Innovation Center, reviewed the competition on behalf of the organizers. She pointed out that in the digital tide, we firmly believe that 3D printing, as an emerging manufacturing technology with data as the core, is the same as the newly born technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of things, life engineering, blockchain, etc., which will inject innovative momentum into the development and upgrading of various industries and bring revolutionary changes. The Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park 3D Printing Digital Innovation Center will spare no effort to promote the industrial application of 3D printing.
Domestic and Foreign 3D Printing Achievements
After the strict preliminary evaluation, 36 project teams are shortlisted for the roadshow re-evaluation stage, among which 31 teams are from China and 5 teams are from overseas. The representatives of the participating teams have made wonderful demonstrations of 3D printing projects in the roadshow re-evaluation. These projects have provided solutions such as processes, new materials, technologies, software applications, engineering solutions, or topological optimization designs for problems encountered in various industries, bringing more inspirations and opportunities for the development of 3D printing in China. The roadshow re-evaluation has built a platform for communication between domestic and foreign 3D printing projects. Some participating teams have brought 3D printing objects to the scene, so that judges and on-site audience can closely feel the technical achievements of 3D printing.
